On July 29, 2021, the fire broke out on the Marmaris İçmeler, Turunç, Osmaniye, Bayır Village route with the effect of the bursting and throwing of the pine cones in the wide covered with dense red pine tress area and by the strong wind. After 9 days, the fire could be ended with day and night extinguishing efforts from the air and land. Approx. 13.650 hectares of land were damaged as said. These are the photos which I took only on the 22km car route of İçmeler-Bayır Village on 01-02 May 2022; 10 months after the fire. INFERNO

In 1882, Patriarch 2 donated land for the establishment of a school in Balat district but he died without seeing that his school could not be completed. The new Patriarch, named again Yoakim, resumed his studies at the school and is opened for education in 1882 which The Greek Girls' High School is called YUVAKIMYON RUM KIZ LİSESİ. In a short time the school is renowned for the quality of its education. Not only from Istanbul, but from abroad students begin to take. Many of their graduates become teachers, and they start to teach at other Greek schools in Istanbul. In 1910, the number of students reached 590.
